How much electricity does Mold-DRY consume per day?

A Mold-DRY Unit with 50 Watt (+/-10%) requires about 1.2 kWh of electricity in 24 hours at full operation. (+/-10%), comparable to a conventional 50 watt light bulb.

When operated with a timer after the first drying phase, the consumption is reduced accordingly.

Why does Mold-DRY save more energy than it consumes?

  • Energy remains energy!

The heat produced by Mold-DRY is not lost in the room and exactly this heat means your main heating system has to heat less.

  • However, there is still one essential point – the SAVING of energy!

Damp walls not only form the breeding ground for mold, they are also bad for the indoor climate and increase heating costs.
Due to increased moisture content in the masonry, the natural insulation capacity changes and the increasingly expensive purchased heat energy escapes uselessly through the damp walls. The moisture causes the masonry to act like a heat conductor, as water conducts energy up to 28 times faster than air.
As a rule of thumb, it can be said that with a moisture content of only 4%, the insulation capacity is already reduced by half. At 10%, the thermal insulation value is even only a quarter, which massively increases heating costs.
With every percent more wall dryness through Mold-DRY, you not only prevent mold, you also save heating costs and thus real money.

For which building materials can Mold-DRY be used?

Mold-DRY dries every diffusion-open building material superficially and deep into the capillary action with infrared heat.
It also dries every damp surface touched by the infrared heat and the rising warm air. This also minimizes the possibility of new mold spores forming and also reduces the formation of condensation on walls and windows.

How much area does a heating element dry and how many elements do I need?

For higher humidity or greater mold infestation, one module is required per running meter of wall (which is why there are also cheaper set offers).
If you place a Schimmel-Dry heating element horizontally near the floor, it dries damp walls through capillary action over about 1 meter of wall width and the entire wall upwards to about 2.5 – 3 meters room height.

At corners, always install 2 modules (left and right side) so that the drying can penetrate deep into the corner.

For slight humidity or light mold infestation, one module is sufficient per 1.5 running meters.

How many units can I combine and how many do I need?

The base module (M1) can be combined with up to four expansion modules (M2). The required number depends on the mold size and the room area. A rule of thumb: 1 module covers approx. 1m² area.

Does Mold - DRY remove mold completely?

Yes! The mold dies from drying and can then simply be wiped off. Since the moisture is removed from the wall, no new mold can form.
